

Mary Susan Kleinmaus Parker passed away Monday, August 4, 2008, at the age of 95. She was born to immigrant parents from Bokovar, Austria Hungary (now Romania) on June 16, 1913, in Amroe, Wisconsin. Mary and her siblings were raised in Milwaukee where she graduated from high school. While working as a secretary for Texas Company in Houston, she met and subsequently married George B. (Jack) Parker on May 18, 1940. They moved immediately to the Humble Camp at Freer, Duval County, Texas where Jack was employed by Humble Company. Their first son John William was born in 1942. Also in 1942 they moved to Humble's Stratton Camp on the King Ranch where two more sons (Richard Joseph and Walter Keith) were born over the next six years. In 1952 the family moved to Trawick Camp in Nacogdoches County. Subsequent moves were made to Nacogdoches, Longview, Waco, and finally to Austin. Mrs. Parker was pre-deceased by her parents John and Marianna Kleinmaus, husband Jack, son Richard, brothers John, Herman, Joseph, and Frank, and most of her contemporaries. She is survived by her sister Bettie of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; son John and his wife Marnie of Austin; son Keith of Bryan; five grandchildren, Susan Parker Zavell of Florence, South Carolina, Catherine Parker Dauplaise of Duluth, Minnesota, John Cody Parker of Washington, D.C., Jessica Parker Valentine of New York and Bryan Lee Parker of Austin. She is also survived by five great-grandsons, Brandon, Travis, and Austin Dauplaise and Joseph and Jackson Zavell. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 8th, at Weed-¬Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar, in Austin. Interment will be at Austin Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of the Summit on Liberty Park Drive for their loving care and assistance. The attention Mrs. Parker received from the staff during her last few days was nothing short of phenomenal.
