Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Haynie, and father, Walter K. Haynie. She is survived by her daughter Susan Boyett and husband Brad, her son Wayne Singleton and wife Carrie of Austin, Texas, her brother W. Kenneth Haynie and sister Frances Rouse of Beaumont, Texas.
Virginia was born in Beaumont Texas on January 26, 1922. Attended Lamar College.
Mary was a member of Great Hills Baptist Church, State Officials Ladies Club, and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She had a great passion for ballroom dancing and was a member of the Austin Waltz Club, Taylor Dance Club and Austin Ballroom Dancers.
She loved to work in her garden and won numerous awards for floral arrangements in competition. She also loved to travel and go on trips with her friends. She loved her children in ways large and small, seen and unseen. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Virginia will be laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011.
