Marybel Rankin Slagle

Marybel was married to Edmond Ralph Slagle on September 9, 1939, and to their union three children were born- Jody Glyn Slagle, Robert Edmond Slagle and Thomas Ralph Slagle. During their marriage, she spent her time caring for her husband, children and was actively involved in church functions at Midland United Methodist Church. After moving to Fredericksburg in 1982, she was an active member of the Gillespie County Retired Teachers Association, Friends of Pioneer Memorial Library and volunteered at the library for 25 years. Along with a love of animals, nature and reading, she loved to travel and visited England, Scotland, Ireland (a lifelong dream), Norway, Mexico and most of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

Marybel is preceded in death by her husband, and her sons Thomas Ralph and Robert Edmond. She is survived by her son Jody Glyn Slagle, four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N. Big Spring Street in Midland, Texas. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Cook Walden Funeral Home of Austin, Texas.
