Matilda Sanchez

Matilda Sanchez, 84, went to sleep with the angles Saturday, the 26th day of February 2011. She was born on the 18th day of December 1926 to Andres and Augustina Mendoza. Matilda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eloy L. Sanchez Sr.; son, Eloy Sanchez Jr.; brothers, Joe, Andrew, Gilbert, and Jesse Mendoza; and sisters, Trinidad Moya, Esperanza Walker, Elvira Patterson, and Teresa Nunez. She is survived by daughter Lucinda Dukate and husband Jean, and sisters, Cecelia Arrellano and Paula Peacock. Matilda was a devoted mother and loving wife. She retired from the Austin Independent School District after 20 years of service. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Seton Medical Center. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’ clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday the 3rd day of March 2011. The Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock in the evening on the 3rd day of March 2011, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78752. Funeral Services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday the 4th day of March 2011, at Saint Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78757.
