

Matthew Joseph Almaguer passed away in his Webberville home on December 31, 2024, at age 40. He is survived by his loving wife Stacie Ramos-Almaguer, sons David Joseph Almaguer and Jeremy Thomas Almaguer, his parents Antonio and Melissa (Gaston) Almaguer, and brothers John Anthony (Christina) and Steven Ray (Karalyn Snider) and his niece and nephews, Emilee, Lucas, and Jackson. He's also survived by Stacie's parents, Steve and Lucy Ramos. Matthew was preceded in death by his brother Gabriel Adam and his grandparents Marcelina Almaguer Romo and Juan Romo, Anna Mae Morton Gaston Janke, and Charles W. Gaston.
Matthew was born in Houston, Texas on January 6, 1984, the eldest son of Antonio and Melissa Almaguer. Matthew was the beloved brother to John, Steven, and Gabriel. In childhood, the family moved to Austin then to Webberville, Texas where Matthew attended Del Valle High School and advanced his passion for music in the Del Valle High School Cardinal Band Drumline. His love of music continued throughout his life.
After high school, Matthew married his soulmate, Stacie Ramos, in 2007. Dedicated to his family, together the couple raised their two sons, David and Jeremy. Matthew’s passion for the outdoors took the family on many beach and camping trips, he also enjoyed fishing and barbecuing. Matthew was a gifted craftsman with the ability to work in many fields, he was especially accomplished in carpentry, welding, and automotive restoration. Blessed with charisma, sharp wits, and a playful sense of humor, he was a joy to be around and loved spending time with family and friends. Matthew gave freely of his many talents and was always willing to donate his time and resources to community cookouts, Del Valle High School band boosters, and local charity events.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes at 2620 South Congress in Austin, TX. Visitation and shared memories from 4 pm to 6 pm with a service beginning at 6 pm. Matthew's favorite color was blue, guests attending the celebration of life ceremony are requested to wear blue in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations made in Matthew’s memory be given to support the family and be accepted at the funeral home, through GoFundMe or Cashapp ($staxalma).
