

Melinda R. Plummer entered this world as a blessing to her family on January 28, 1954. She was born to Crispin and Julia Robledo, who both preceded her in death. On September 22, 2025, Melinda peacefully transitioned into eternal rest, surrounded by love, care, and affection.
She attended Manor Schools and carried with her the values of dedication and perseverance. In 1995, Melinda gave her life to Christ through baptism, becoming a faithful member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith anchored her through life’s seasons, and she carried herself with kindness, grace, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she encountered.
Melinda married her soulmate, Clarence Edward Plummer, Jr. Together, they built a home filled with cherished memories. They were blessed with 41 years of marriage until Clarence’s passing, as he too preceded her in death.
For more than 35 years, Melinda was a dedicated employee of the Texas Medical Liability Insurance Underwriting Association, retiring in 2016. Her commitment, integrity, and hard work left a lasting impression on colleagues and the organization she served with pride.
Family was always the center of Melinda’s world. She delighted in her role as a mother and grandmother, and in recent years, her joy grew even greater as she welcomed three great-grandchildren into the family. She cultivated a home filled with warmth, generosity, and an open heart that extended far beyond her own household.
She will be remembered by her children, Amy Brooks , Clarence “Trey” Plummer III, and Tori Hernandez (Rene); step-daughter, Shelia Plummer; her 10 grandchildren; and her 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Jesse Robledo (Debbie), Janie Plummer (Kenneth), and Cosme Robledo, Jr.; along with her half-siblings Sally,Becky and Crispin In addition, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. Each will carry forward the memory of her unwavering faith, her steady encouragement, and her compassionate spirit.
Her favorite saying to her children and grandchildren was, “Be A Tiger.” She spoke it with affection, urging them to stand strong, face life with courage, and never give up. This message of resilience will remain with them always, a lasting piece of her strength and guidance.
Though her presence will be missed deeply, the legacy of her spirit and the example she set will live on in all who knew her.
A visitation for Melinda will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services, 2808 E. MLK Jr. Blvd., Austin, TX 78702. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 3417 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78721. A committal will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
