Mike Hubbard, age 61, of Austin, Texas, passed away suddenly on October 6, 2009. He was born on December 18, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, and got to Texas as fast as he could (1981). He was a devoted husband and son-in-law and is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeanie and his mother-in-law Vera Platt. He is also survived by a large extended family and a few close friends. He liked old time rock'n'roll, classic country music, football and baseball, especially The University of Texas Longhorns (hook'em!) and the Detroit Tigers. He had the gift of gab and a great sense of humor. An open house in Mike's honor will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the home he shared with Jeanie and Vera, 5208B Woodrow Avenue, Austin.
