Known to most Family and loved ones as our beloved Nanny, Mildred Buck Lawrence of Austin Texas was born on Feb. 22, 1935 in Liberty Hill Texas. She passed away at her home, surrounded by Family and friends on Nov 29, 2018. On Valentine’s Day 1977, with a giant leap of faith, she gave her blessing and joined her husband, Harold Lawrence (Poppy), in opening Harold’s Wholesale, a grocery supply company in San Marcos Texas. In retirement, both Nanny and Poppy loved making frequent trips to Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, and Louisiana with her sisters and brother in law to enjoy slot machines and just spending time together with her siblings.
Nanny was 1 of 11 children born to Luther and Mary Buck. She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, Harold Lawrence, her children Gary Lawrence and his wife Denise of Hutto, Terry Lawrence and his wife Rhonda of Buda, Lori Herrington and her husband Lance of Amarillo, and Larry Lawrence and wife Beth of Burnet. She had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with the #14 on the way. She is also survived by her very special younger sisters Shirley Childers of Round Rock, and Betty Italian of New Braunfels.
