Mrs. Champion lived most of her life in McAllen, Texas prior to moving to Austin with her husband to be closer to their children. Family was the most important thing in her life, not only was she a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, she was our friend and confidant. After her husband passed away in 2003, Minnie spent time traveling with her children, which created so many great memories to be cherished.
Mrs. Champion was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul T. Champion, one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Champion; her two daughters, Betty Champion and Linda Champion all of Austin; and one granddaughter, Stacie Stallings of Dallas. Also surviving Mrs. Champion is her loving sister, Delia Garcia of McAllen, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 with recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road with Father Pat Coakley, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
