Mona is survived by her husband, Emile William Weeks, her sisters; Judy Buchanan and Alice Owens, her daughters and spouses; Sherry and Bill Newman, Monica and Jim Lane, and Amelia and Steve Scott, and sons and spouses; Mark and Sherry Weeks and Justin and Kathleen Weeks. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grand children.
Mona spent her life as the backbone of the Weeks family. She and Emile were married 62 years and in that time Mona raised five children across four countries, living the military life. They retired in 1970, moving back to Austin, as it was her home. Mona was born in Cow Creek, Texas and lived the country life until Emile swept her off her feet for their amazing life adventure. Mona was a talented seamstress and gardener. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She ran a smooth family home and was always available with hugs to take care of a sick child or husband. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Mona spent her later years enjoying family and friends. She will be greatly missed, but has left a legacy of love and accomplishment to carry her memory and spirit forward.
