Born in Austin, Texas, on December 13, 1936, to Eugene McGuire and Mabel Carleston, Nancy graduated from McCallum High School. She spent many years researching her family history and was actively involved in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT).
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lyman E. Shurtleff (Jim). She is survived by family and friends.
A graveside service for Nancy will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, Texas.
