I haven't seen Nell in many years but the time I did know her, she always seemed like a gentle soul. Always trying to do right by her family. I know she will be missed greatly by many hearts she touched in her life.

Some of my very favorite memories with Ms Nell were the trips to Kingsland—always adventurous and exciting. Nothing compares to the many late night slumber parties camped out in her living room,  waching the late night movies and getting all the treats. The many mornings she spent with my my mom drinking coffee and comparing notes on us kids. She was a remarkable woman and mother and I am proud to call her my “other mother”  she will be deeply missed and loved always. Love you Ms Nell and we know you are wrapped in the love of your boys now, smiling down on us all !❤️❤️

So much of my childhood is based on memories with you. I remember how caring you were. So many times you’ve welcomed the people you love with open arms. You loved unconditionally. I remember staying in the study room with my mom and brother at your house. The house where we had Papas party and everyone came. The house where we have all lived at some point when our lives were turned upside down. You were there. I remember climbing the tree in the neighbors yard, you hated when we did that. I remember you taking me swimming and sitting on the bench. You would always let me get candy out of the vending machine, usually sour skittles. I’d always be so tired that I’d pass out in your bed in the middle of the day, with the curtains moving softly and the sound of windchimes somewhere outside. This hits me hard, right before you passed you couldn’t stop looking at the curtains flowing from the air of the fan... I remember how you would always ask me if I was hungry when I came over. You would make me creamy chicken ramen in a glass bowl and we would crush crackers on top. I will think of you every time I eat ramen. You taught me how to paint, and that mistakes can always be corrected. I miss playing chopsticks with you on the piano and painting your toenails. I miss our big family thanksgivings and Christmas’s and your amazing stuffing. I remember how you’d always read a book on your side of the bed with the lamp on before going to sleep. And when you let me drive your car when I was learning how to drive. I tried to turn left onto your street and instead of pushing the break as you were yelling at me to break, I pushed the gas and hit the curb. I’d give anything to relive these memories. I love you endlessly. You are a selfless, beautiful woman and I am so proud to be your granddaughter. You have given me so many good childhood memories and I am so thankful for you and everything you taught me. I love you, Mimi. 

Nell and I shared her recipe for Divinity many years ago when our children were small.   Neither of us had a candy thermometer so "Dibinity" (as some of the kids pronounced it) was served on a platter  - with individual spoons.   I finally got a candy thermometer and Nell continued serving her Divinity in a platter - with individual spoons!   One day Nell accidentally cooked the syrup to the proper temperature and her Divinity turned out perfect . . . but her kids weren't interested because it wasn't real "Dibinity".

My favorite memory was listening to Ms. Nell and my mom laughing and having the best time together over a cup of coffee and complaining about their kids and the things we put them threw...  Ms.Nell was a wonderful mom, and friend and she  will be missed .. My love and prayers.           P.S.                  Now these two Angeles are sharing a cup of coffee once more,,,

These two... inseparable from the moment Aunt Nin was born. Words cannot describe how sad I am that they are gone or how happy I am that they are together again. Be nice to the boys, you, two, and let them win at 42 every now and then!
