

Today we celebrate the life of Nicole Amaylia Clay, beloved daughter, sister and friend, who passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 35. Born on November 7, 1990 to Dorthey and Velmil Clay in San Antonio, Texas, Nicole brought joy creativity and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nicole graduated from School of Excellence high school in 2009 and went on to attend Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. She graduated from there in 2014 with an English Degree and a minor in psychology. After she graduated Nicole was drawn to work in the food servicing industry much like her maternal grandfather, Red.
Nicole was a talented artist of which she loved to sketch and draw. Her future dreams was to become a great tattoo artist. Her other great desires were watching as many Animated Shows as she could and boxing. Nicole had also spoke of becoming a boxer.
Nicole was deeply family oriented, always prioritizing quality time with her loved ones and upholding traditions that brought her family closer. The bond she had with her brothers Tony and Andre was a unique, lifelong connection, rooted in shared history, deep love and emotional attachment, and a mixture of friendship and rivalry. Nicole also was a kind of person who made time for her friends even when her schedule was packed, proving that her friends were always like family to her. In her final months with her mother, Nicole wanted to know more about the Lord and being saved. Many nights they read the bible and talked about confessing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and believed that God had raised Him from the dead. The week before she passed, Nicole confirmed with her mother that she had confessed the Prayer of Salvation and that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior.
Nicole is survived by her mother, Dorthey Clay; father, Velmil Clay; brothers, Anthony (Tony) Clay (April); Andre Clay (Liz) She also leaves to cherish her memory her aunts: JoAnn Robinson; Pamela Ramey; Gayle Bellow; Charlene Rose Washington; Ramona Pearson-Strane and uncles: Alvin Strane; Joseph Sims; Arnold Bellow; nieces Trinity Raye Clay and Kearrah Dilworth-Clay; nephew Gavin Wilson-Parks
Nicole will be deeply missed by her cousins: Alexandria Hodge; Philip Robinson; Aren Mitchell; Ian Mitchell; Anrae Strane; Nick Strane. Also sisters by another mother: Juanna JiaLi Allums; Asia Haney; Akilah James; brother by another mother: Patrick Rodriguez and host of other cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services, located at 2808 E. MLK Jr. Blvd., Austin, TX 78702, USA. The service is scheduled for February 6, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
