

Norma Almquist, age 84, of Austin, Texas passed away Saturday morning, October 30, 2004. She was born to her parents, Edwin and Estha Kretzschmar on September 18, 1920. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eric F. Almquist on January 12, 1989, her sister, Ruby Hoxie and her great grandson, Logan Howell. Norma loved gardening, fishing with her husband, sewing and quilting. She gave of her time as a volunteer for 12 years at South Austin Hospital. She was a member of longstanding at Parker Lane United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Norma (Gus) Anderson of Dripping Springs, TX and Joyce (Jimmy) Whited of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Terri (Larry) Lacy of Dripping Springs, Kim Anderson-Scott of Dripping Springs, Kelli Anderson of Dripping Springs, Jennifer (David) Scruggs of Plano, TX, Jimmy Whited of Miami, FL; five great grandchildren and one sister, Frances (James) Sternberg of Austin, TX. We will miss our beloved sister, mother, grandmommy, great grandmommy and friend very much. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Christopher House and to Yvonte Boley for their love and care. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Christopher House or American Cancer Society. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1st, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Capital Parks in Pflugerville.
