

Norma Anne Pirtle Brandt, born March 20, 1930 died peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born to Peggy Frieda Marie and Roscoe Pirtle in Pampa, Texas. She received her BA in Education at the University of Texas where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She served as a seventh grade English teacher in Pampa and kept a lifelong interest in reading and teaching. One of her most proud accomplishments was being a founding member of the LBJ library docents, where she served for 20 years. Norma was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Westlake Garden Society, University Ladies Club and Faculty Wives of the University of Texas. One of her greatest joys was traveling around the world meeting new friends and learning the delights of new experiences. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Dr. Floyd S. Brandt, her daughter, Mary L. Brandt, MD, her son Stan Brandt and grandchildren Will, Ryan and Ashley as well as legions of loving friends all over the world. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Burial will follow in Austin Memorial Park.
