

Frankie Opal Evans Morriss Opal Morriss went to be with her Lord, April 29, 2004. Opal was born August 6, 1916, in Yowell, Delta County, Texas. She was preceded by her husband, Gus Morriss. She was married February 19, 1938. God was first in her life then family and church. She was a member of Kinney Avenue Baptist Church for over forty years. She taught third and fourth graders over forty years. She had a love for missions and she was a member of the Womens Missionary Union for over 50 years. She is survived by her loving son, Ronald D. Morriss; her two brothers, Louie Evans and his wife Lucy of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Earl Evans and his wife Francis of Austin, Texas, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Tim Bartlett, Jim Becklund, Steve Cochran, Joel Evans, David Hoffpauir, Gary Hoffpauir, Roger Shankle. We thank all the wonderful nurses and staff at Regency Village Care Center for all the love and care they showed for my mother. The family will receive friends Monday, May 3, 2004, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, with Reverend Gordon Bergstrom officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kinney Avenue Baptist Church, designated for the Restore Temple, 1801 Kinney Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704.
