

Patricia attended Woodlawn High School where she was a majorette for four years. She taught dancing at the Edith Wilson Studio while attending high school. She graduated in 1960 and worked for Southern Bell for two years before attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
After college she worked for the Birmingham Board of Education and then took a position with the City Council of Birmingham. She left the Council to work as and Administrative Assistant for South Central Bell.
In 1978 she met Doug DeVine and after using his super sales skills they were married on February 16, 1979. In June of that year he took a position as Regional Manager for VR Wesson and they moved to Dallas. In Dallas Pat assumed a position in the Security Office of Southwestern Bell. The next year Pat was offered a position in the Legal Department and worked there for three years. During those years Doug and Pat traveled extensively for work and made life-long friends.
When Pat was offered a position as Government Relations Manager for AT&T in Austin, they made the decision to move to the city they loved. At this time Doug began a career in his true calling, real estate. He began selling homes, then built homes until he found his true passion as a Commercial Real Estate Broker.
Pat retired from AT&T to take care of Doug after he suffered a series of medical problems. He fought bravely for several years before passing away in 2015. Gilbert Barborak a family friend helped care for Doug during these years. After his passing Gil became her partner for the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Albert and Edith, her husband Doug and nephew Craig Golden.
She left behind her partner Gil and her beloved puppy Piper.
She was survived by numerous family members: Gail and John Golden (sister and brother-in-law), Cory and Amber Golden (nephew and niece), Grace and Ava Golden (great-nieces), Elena Golden (niece), Ben and Charleny Golden (great nephew and niece), Austin and Sarah Golden (great nephew and niece), Betty DeVine (sister-in-law), Jeff and Becky DeVine (nephew and niece), Donna and Jeff Brooks (niece and nephew) and Tara and Gator Ingle (niece and nephew).
She is also survived by a few close friends who made her life better. They included Kimberly and Sean Cummings, Fran and Elben Schafers, Kathy and Jimmy Brownlee, Amanda Gay, Ruth Gunn and Alison Scott.
Known for her kindness, generosity and beauty, Pat touched the lives of all she knew.
