

Patricia H. Harris Patricia Howard Harris died April 1, 2004, the morning after her 94th birthday. She was born in Houston, TX on March 31, 1910. Her mother, Mary Ellen Kennedy, died in 1919, a casualty of the flu epidemic. Pat and her father, William Jeremiah Howard survived the illness, and, at her mothers request, Pat lived her young years with two maiden aunts in Kansas City. She returned to Houston in her teens to live with her father, Judge Howard, and to attend Saint Agnes Academy. Both the Kennedy and Howard families had emigrated from Ireland in the 1800s. Pat graduated from Saint Agnes and from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in English and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She worked as a secretary for the Austin Child Guidance Center for many years, then for Delores Catholic Church, and she retired from Saint Austins Catholic Church. She was an antiques collector and dealer. Following the Kennedy assassination, she had An Austin Scrapbook of John F. Kennedy published in order to save a little history for her descendants. All profits from the book went to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Lectures Fund at the University of Texas Catholic Student Center. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter C. Harris III, and is survived by daughters, Mary Baker of Dallas, TX, Margaret Little and her husband, Jack, of Amarillo, TX, Jo Black and her husband, Warren, of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Linda McConnell Thurmond, El Campo, TX, Peggy McConell, Dallas, TX, Vincent McConnell, Austin, TX, Janet Little Tweed and husband Craig, Phoenix, AZ, Karen Little Harbaugh and husband Ross, Amarillo, TX, Mark Little and wife Trish, Frisco, TX, Kathleen Black Vore and husband Wayne, Austin, TX, Louis Black, Dallas, TX; 7 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. The family will receive friends and visitors from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening, April 4, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Burial will be at Austin Memorial Park.
