Pat Spradling was born in Borger, Texas on November 25, 1952, along with her twin sister, Priscilla. Her family later moved to Austin, Texas where she attended school and graduated from Travis High School in 1971.
While in school she was introduced to James Spradling, who would later become her beloved husband for 53 years. The loving couple bonded over dancing, friendships and community. They joined the Sons of Hermann Lodge together in the late 60's and have been members ever since. James proposed while at the top of a Ferris wheel and the two would marry shortly after in June 1971.
In 1972, Pat and James added a new baby to their brood, becoming the proud parents of three children; James, Dana and Katrina. Family was very important to Pat, she loved spending time together by going on trips to the beach and the lake, having family dinners, and attending gatherings of any kind with her family and friends.
While Pat worked diligently as an administrative assistant until she retired from Austin White Lime, she also had a thriving social life. Whether it was bowling, gambling in Las Vegas, baking or shopping, Pat was passionate about all her hobbies. She discovered her love for bowling while living in San Antonio, Texas and she was able to spend many years traveling all over the country doing what she loved. The friends she made while bowling were like family to her. Despite her many travels, Pat always made time to cook and bake for her loved ones. If Pat made it or baked it, you knew you couldn't turn it down. Of all her hobbies, Pat's absolute favorite was shopping. She always knew where to get the best bargains for anything you could need. The fact that it was a great opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren made the shopping trips just that much better.
She is survived by her husband, James Spradling, Jr., and her children, James Spradling, III, and wife, Aimee; Dana Brown and husband, Kevin; and Katrina Spradling. She is also survived by her brother, Virgil Blackmon and wife Janice; and sister Barbara Blackmon. Grandchildren, Caleb Brown and wife Kayla; Tyler Brown and wife Bethaney; Rachel Spradling; Alexandra Spradling; and Emmalee Spradling. Nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Youra Van Blackmon and Oma Lee O'Dell; and sister, Priscilla Stanfield.
She will be desperately missed by everyone who knew her.
