Paul Wesley Castle, a quiet and gentle soul who found deep joy in nature and family, passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on June 30, 1954, Paul spent much of his life in Austin and Bastrop, Texas—places whose natural beauty suited his introspective spirit.
Paul worked for many years at Samsung in Austin before making a meaningful career change later in life. In 2008, he earned his HVAC Technician certification from Austin Community College, embracing a new path with determination and pride.
He was known for his kindness, generosity, and steady presence. Introverted by nature, Paul found fulfillment in quiet pursuits—especially spending time outdoors and exploring the natural world. He also had a deep curiosity about his family’s past, dedicating time to tracing his genealogy and preserving his family’s history.
Family was central to Paul’s life. A devoted and loyal son, he cared deeply for his parents, musicians Joseph and Florence. In Florence’s later years, he moved in with his mother to help care for her, offering companionship and support until her death in 2019 at the age of 102. Paul honored their shared legacy by carefully preserving their music recordings, ensuring their voices and artistry would endure.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence; his sister, Rita; and his cousins, Virginia Keer and Carol Kay.
He will be missed by his cousins, Norma Stein of Haverford, Pennsylvania, and Wayne Caskey of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, as well as by friends and neighbors who knew him as a thoughtful, dependable, and kind-hearted man.
Paul’s life was marked not by grand gestures, but by quiet devotion—to family, to memory, and to the simple beauty of the world around him.
