Paul David John McLean

Paul David John McLean, 59 was born on April 19, 1956 in Dallas, Texas and died January 19, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Paul was a loving father, brother, son and friend to so many. He was filled with life, energy and laughter, always greeting with a smile, and had a great quality of listening and making others feel special. His greatest pride and joy were his daughter, Sara Patricia and his granddaughter, Eva Ryan. His love for his wife, Sandra McLean Gracia knew no bounds.

Paul attended St. Bernards, Bishop Lynch and graduated from Bryan Adams in Dallas. Paul decided to switch to Bryan Adams because they had the first computer class, which was going to be his passion for his career. He attended East Texas State University and the University of Texas in Austin. He worked for five different companies, but majority of his time was spent at the Railroad Commission of Texas, where he was the Chief Architect responsible for building the new oil and gas system, which is still running over 30 years later. Paul retired in 2011 as Deputy Director.

He is preceded in death by his mother who passed away on December 27, 2015, Lula A. McLean.

Paul is survived by his father, Salem; seven brothers and sisters, Cathy McConn, Theresa Brown, Patty Cunningham, Tom McLean, Mary Grimes, Mike McLean, Evy McLean; his daughter, Sara Patricia; granddaughter, Eva Ryan; his beautiful wife, Sandra McLean Gracia and her two sons, Johnny R. Perez Jr. and Marcus D. Perez; their wives, Michelle and Heather; grandchildren, Alayah, Xavier and Lexi; twenty-three nieces and nephews; countless second generation children.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress.

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at St. Mary's Cathedral Church, 203 East 10th Street.

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
