

PEGGY EVANS HENRY Peggy Evans Henry was born Peggy Ruth Evans to Leslie Andrew Evans and Claudia Nell Evans, May 1, 1926, in Archer County, Texas. She was raised on the ranch that has been family owned and operated for over one hundred years. It is still being run by the fourth and fifth generations. Peggy was educated in Wichita Falls, Texas, graduating from the nursing school at Midwestern University and the Wichita Falls General Hospital. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for over fifty years during which she touched many lives. She married Hubert A. Henry on December 26, 1948, and moved to Austin, Texas, where she lived for the remainder of her life. They traveled much of the world during his military and civilian career and later in their retirement living. She is past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Texas Chapter of the Society of Professional Engineers and past member of the Daughters of the Nile Auxiliary to the Ben Hur Shrine Temple. Peggy was an amazing woman who always put others needs before her own. She was strong and courageous, never shying away from the toughest circumstances. She loved her family above all else and was always there for them. She was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Evans Henry. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hubert Henry; her son, Jim Henry and his wife, Wanda (Austin); her daughter, Kathleen and her husband Mike Moore (Houston). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. The pallbearers will be Eric Henry, Chris Henry, Michael Paul Henry, Josh Henry, Nick Moore, and Paul Wylie, Jr. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 15, 2007, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Services will be Monday, July 16, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or First Baptist Church of Austin.
