Pete Moreno

Pete "Guero" Moreno, age 77, died on Sunday, September 7, 2008. His daughter, Jeanette "Jan" M. Linares passed away on Friday, September 5, 2008. Pete was born in Creedmoor, Texas on November 20, 1930. His marriage to Lupe Sosa produced two children, Deborah and Jeanette. Pete was employed by Miller Blue Print until his retirement. He served as Head Usher at San Jose Catholic Church for the 12:30 pm Mass for many years. He continued his journey to the next life surrounded by his daughter, Deborah; grandchildren; brothers and sisters; and many family members. Pete is survived by his daughter, Deborah Moreno-Perez; sister, Josephine Moreno Zamarripa; brothers, Ignacio "Nash" Moreno (Tommy), Dora Trevino Ortiz (Jesse), John Trevino, Jr.; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette "Jan" M. Linares was born on May 15, 1957. She attended Travis High School and later married. Jan is survived by her sister, Deborah; daughter, Monica; sons, Jamie (Laura), Benjamin; six grandchildren. A family member named her "The Associated Press" because she knew all the family "chisme" (gossip) before it happened. Jan served as Lector at San Jose Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her big heart, a sense of humor and her smile. Services for Pete Moreno and Jeanette M. Linares will be held at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A celebration of their lives will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 12, 2008 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lupe Zamarripa and Jesse Ortiz. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lupe Zamarripa and Jesse Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers will be Moses Saldana Sr. and Benny Orta.
