Peter E. Brady

Peter E. Brady passed after a short illness on July 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. The son of Jessie John Brady and Katherine Murphy Brady, he was born April 17, 1937 in Austin, Texas. Peter was a lifelong Austinite - a true Austin unicorn! He graduated from St. Edward's High School class of 1955. Peter also attended The University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1961.

Peter dedicated his life to God, family and work. He was a proudly devoted, practicing lifetime member of St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church. He fondly told stories of some of his earliest memories being of sitting on his mother's lap at church. He and Yvonne where also the first marriage performed at the new church in 1965-the pews were not even in place!

Peter is predeceased by his adored wife, Yvonne 'Alyece', his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Mike Morris, grandson Christopher Alvine; his son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Teresa Brady, grandchildren, Joseph Brady, Matthew and Courtney Brady, Michael Brady, Elizabeth Brady; several nieces and nephews and many other loved ones.

Peter's family would like to thank all the staff, doctors and nurses at the various care facilities and hospitals who put up with his jokes and stories over the past several months and made these last several months more comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception at Weed Corley-Fish.
