

Dr. Peter Neuman died on February 22, 2015. He was 73 years old.
Peter was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 17, 1942. After relocating to Beaumont, Texas for some years, Peter and his family moved to Austin where he graduated from McCallum High School in 1960.
Peter then attended and graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in organic chemistry, later earning his Ph.D. in 1966. Upon graduation, he was employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he developed high explosive compounds for military use.
Afterward, Peter decided to make a career change to dentistry. He graduated with a DDS from UT Dental Branch and went on to earn his MS in orthodontics in 1977. After serving in private practice, Peter then taught at UT Dental Branch as an orthodontics professor until 1997.
Peter then returned to private practice before retiring so that he could take care of his elderly parents in 2004.
Peter is survived by his sister Denise Neuman of Austin.
Funeral services will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 27th of February 2015, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Peter lived his life with a commitment to duty, integrity, excellence, and hard work. He was a kind and loving son, brother, friend, and employer. We will miss him.
