Pramod Natvarlal Sheth peacefully departed this life on the morning of August 7th, 2024, at the age of 85 in Austin, Texas. He was born on August 2nd, 1939 in Baroda, Gujarat, India to the late Natvarlal and Vidya Sheth. The family along with his late brother, Arun, moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra where he spent his younger years attending Sarvajanik school, having fun, playing marbles and cricket, and forming lifelong friendships.
He attended college in Navsari, Gujarat at the Garda College & PK Patel College of Commerce, but his college experience was cut short. He dropped out of college after the 1st year to take care of his father who was ill, and never completed his degree.
He then started his business and became the responsible son after his father passed. He got his sister and brother married and settled.
On February 10, 1965, he married his wife, Kokila Sheth, and together they raised 3 children in Mumbai. In 1993, he made the courageous journey to the United States to create a better livelihood for him and his wife. He helped numerous people come to the US by signing their security agreements. They lived on the east coast for a while before finally settling in Austin.
He and his wife were highly involved in the Indian community in Austin. They were loved by many people in the temples they attended. They also loved bringing this community together, warmly inviting people into their home, taking care of them, and very generously offering food no matter the occasion.
Later in his life and after the passing of his wife, he delighted in singing, sharing jokes, and spending time with his loved ones. His passion for the community he was a part of continued to shine through his hosting of various events at the temple and get togethers at his home.
He loved spending time with his family, his kids, grandkids and his friends. He leaves behind his children: Parag & Kate, Parul & Sanjay, Prashant & Dale; his grandchildren: Krishna, Parth, Maya, and Oliver; and his sister: Suhag Shah.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love and joy he imparted will forever remain in our hearts.
He is now reunited with his wife, Kokila, who preceded him in death.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Om Shanti Om.
