On Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 99 years of age, just 12 days shy of celebrating her 100th birthday, our mother, Prudencia Macias Inocente, lifelong resident of Austin, Texas and better known by those who loved her as Prudy, was peacefully touched by Our Lord’s hand and escorted to heaven for an even better birthday celebration with all of her family and friends.
Prudencia Inocente was the daughter of Jose and Senaida Macias along with her 2 sisters, Esabel Flores, Eulalia Retta and 2 brothers, Jesus Solis and Leon Macias. She married the love of her life, Mike Romero Inocente and had 2 sons, Michael and Edward Inocente.
Michael is married to Maria and between them have 9 children; Scott Inocente, Stephanie Hagen, Kimberly Freveletti, Samantha, June, Christine, Thomas and the twins Megan and Ryan Hanscom. Prudy was proud to be a Grandma (MoMo) to 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her niece, Gloria Moreno and her boys, Arthur, Mark and Vincent Moreno always loved visiting with her. Stella and Lupe Mendez and family Dolores, Sara, Rachel and Adam were among the many other nieces and nephews that loved Prudy because she was so full of life and a joy to be around.
Prudencia left working as a receptionist for a doctor when she became a full time mother. She was active in church and in school. She encouraged her boys to finish school, go to college and be successful in life and to be of assistance to those in need. We never let her down.
Edward attended the University of Texas and played with the Austin Symphony and was there for her until the end. Michael retired from the Air Force after serving 20 years in the Security Police field and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in Business Management but what made Prudy the most proud was when Michael became a Fourth Degree Sir Knight in the Knights of Columbus and would pray with her after every visit before returning to San Antonio, Texas.
We ask that you help us celebrate Prudencia Inocente’s life with prayers for the family believing what my son Scott said of his grandmother. She went to sleep peacefully that night and woke up the next morning in heaven.
Honorary Pall Bearers: Scott Inocente, AlanMichael Inocente, Adam Favella, Vincent Moreno, Arthur Moreno, and Adrian Moreno.
