

Preceding him in death are his parents, five brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lura "Boots" Schwake and son, Curt Schwake, of Austin, TX; niece, Joyce Holder of Plano, TX; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
QC was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brenham, and a member and past president of the Timbergrove Lions Club. He grew up in Salado and Temple, TX, and joined the U.S. Navy in 1945. QC was assigned to Pensacola NAS, FL, where he met Boots. They married in 1949 ("A Texan invaded Florida and took one prisoner"). Following reserve officer training, QC moved to Houston to attend U of H where he earned a bachelor's degree in graphic arts. QC retired as operations director of The Rein Company and moved to Brenham in 1982 and then to Austin in 2004.
Quentin was a compassionate man of true integrity and great humor who revered God and greatly loved his family, friends, and his ranch near Lexington, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78705.
