Randy was born on March 16, 1961, in Georgetown, Texas. He graduated from the Travis County Sheriff’s Academy in the late 80’s and served in law enforcement for several years. Randy was also a graduate of the Texas A&M Fire Academy. He worked as a career firefighter in Taylor, Texas and also volunteered his time with other local fire departments throughout his lifetime. His work in both law enforcement and the fire service reflected many years spent serving his community. Randall was also the “Everything Construction” guy who could build just about anything and worked a significant amount of his life doing just that. There was always a project to be done, either at a job site or at home and there was never any question if the whole family was going to be involved somehow.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Chappo Peterson; his children, James Michael Peterson and wife Amy Peterson, Brent Allen Peterson and wife Kristen Peterson, and Kyla Jo Austin and husband Jacob Austin. Randy’s legacy also continues through his grandchildren Brittaney, Macy, Brandon, Madison, Avery, Cooper, Sadie, Kaylee, and Jaxon Peterson, his great-grandchild Calloway James Vance as well as his two brothers Leonard Peterson and Wayne Peterson.
Randall is preceded in death by his father, Charles L. “Pinky” Peterson, and his mother, Francis R. Hardin Peterson.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
