Raymond Earl Towns, 82, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Tyler, Texas, passed away Thursday June 8, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents John Earl and Nellie Mae Towns. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Towns; son Steve Towns and wife Beth; daughter Judy Strawmyer and husband Jeff; grandchildren Tyler Strawmyer, Colton Towns, Kimberly and Kendall Housewright; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Raymond graduated from Tyler Junior College and Stephen F. Austin College. After serving in the Navy in WWII, Raymond taught school and was a Texas Highway Patrol Officer. Raymond was later employed by the Texas Youth Commission and retired from the State Comptrollers Office. Funeral services will be held at Weed Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
