Richard Thomas Kurz

Born on August 29,1958 in San Antonio, Texas, Richard was the son of Gary and Martha Kurz. Richard worked many jobs from driving cars for his Dad, traveling with Lucent Technologies, building custom homes at the company he started with Ricky Slaughter, and working with his hands in the oil field. He loved to be outside, whether that was while hunting, fishing, or just walking town lake with his daughter. An avid card player, Richard enjoyed most games that could be played around a table with the people he loved most, laughing with you and teasing was his most genuine expression of love. Richard was known for his quick wit, willingness to help, and dedication to his family.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Bradly and Karly; his brother, Randal; sisters, Sheri and Kish; niece, Alexandria "Honey"; nephew, Jake; brother-in-law, Cody; sister-in-law, Grace; and step-mother, Pat.

A memorial service will be held on May 3rd at 11:00 AM, at Oak Island Methodist Church in Somerset, Texas followed by lunch at Don Pedro’s in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where Richard was a consistent and generous supporter for over 15 years.. Contributions can be made online at www.stjude.org.
