Richard Dick Pirtle, age 75, of Cedar Creek, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2003. Dick retired from McDonnell-Douglas in Titusville, Florida in 1993. Dick served 15 years in the United States Army. His service was in many parts of the world including Guam, Germany, and Korea, ending his military career at Ft. Bliss, TX. Dick relocated to Austin in 1998. He enjoyed golf, camping, fishing, woodworking and especially reading western novels and spending time with his family. Dick is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Linda Dryden and husband Richard, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Patricia Stanley and husband Randy, of Mansfield, TX; son, Scott Pirtle and wife Irma, of El Paso, TX; four grandchildren, Michael Welsh and wife Lauren, Becky DuBose and husband Ronnie, Derrick Stanley, and Rachel Pirtle; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Deitrick and Jacob and Joshua DuBose.
