
Richard Lane Price was born on December 14, 1954 and passed away at home in Austin August 12, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Glenda, his son Major Andrew Price and wife Fang Price, his beloved Grandson Michael Price and a whole host of family and friends! Lane grew up here in Austin and graduated from Crockett H.S. In 1973. His fondest memories of his hs years are marching band at Crockett and scouting. He made Eagle Scout in hs and returned to scouting later to earn his Wood Badge for adult participants. He was active in several churches throughout his life until his health began to weaken him. His other great love as an adult was the electrical trade. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 520 for almost 50 years and ( like his father and grandfather before him) served in various union position until his retirement including being President and serving as a delegate to the international convention. This will be the first time in almost a century that a Price is not in leadership for the IBEW. In addition to serving in leadership, Lane was dedicated to preparing the next generation of electricians. He taught apprenticeship classes, CE classes, and classes meant to help non- union electricians become part of the union, etc. Lane was a Gentleman, kind, loyal and devoted Christian Gentleman. He will not be soon forgotten.
