

Robert Bradford Fickett, “Brad”, passed away on Monday September 21, 2015 in Austin, Texas with his beloved wife, Jeanette, and their daughter by his side. His spirit is carried on by parents, Bobby Harold and Mary Evelyn Fickett, and he is preceded in death by his sister Mary Sheridan Heafer.
Brad was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 16th, 1950 and shortly thereafter moved to Texas, eventually settling in Kaufman, just outside of Dallas. Brad attended Kaufman High School where he made many dear friends, was voted Wittiest Senior, and met his future wife, Mary Jeanette Hetmer. Brad moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas, receiving a BBA, class of '74. In 1982, he and Jeanette were married, and in August of '84, they welcomed their daughter, Mary Caroline, to the world. Brad worked in sales for Abel Stationers before starting Austin Office Supply & Tri-State School Supply, which he owned and operated for 25 years. Residing in Austin, Brad avidly supported The Texas Longhorns, attending football and baseball games. He looked forward to a yearly pilgrimage to Omaha for the College World Series, was a history buff, loved listening to his favorite artists, and enjoyed grilling and celebrating life with his family, friends and Showdogs.
