Robert (Bob) Hill Garrett went to be with his Lord on November 26, 2008, surrounded by family. He was born on October 30, 1924 in Nashville, Arkansas, to Robert William and Ethel Reynolds Garrett. He moved to Texas as a child, served his country during WWII, attaining the rank of Sgt; and earned a BBA from SMU. He was a Cub Scout leader and Pack Master for many years, ordained Baptist deacon, co-Publisher of Texas School Business Magazine; active participant in the Texas Christian Ashram; co-founder of Educators for Christ; avid golfer; long-time member of Lost Creek Country Club; and appreciated for his sour-dough bread delivered to friends and family at Christmas and other occasions. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 50+ years, Jo Anne (Jody) Pittenger Garrett, and his son Jeffrey Garrett. He is survived by his children, Dr. Betty Lee Ligon-Borden and husband Gordon T. Borden, John Pittenger (Pitt) Garrett and wife Vickie Garrett; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren. A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he is missed by all. Memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress, with his long-time friend Reverend Rob Minor officiating and reception following.
