

Roger Chapaweston, 76, a resident of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2025. He was born in Anna Rose, Texas on November 5, 1948, to Alvino (Ollie) and Amelia Chapa Weston who preceded him in death.
Roger attended the University of Houston and spent many years working for the State of Texas. Outside of his professional life, Roger had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was an instructor for Roger’s Recruits and a judge for the United States Twirling Association (USTA) competitions for many years. He was an avid and talented dancer, had a passion for marching bands, enjoyed traveling, and loved to cook for others.
He had a kind heart and often opened his home to a friend in need. A member of the Unity Church in Pflugerville, Roger was very giving of his time and loved to volunteer.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Canales (Theresa) from Somerset, New Jersey and daughter Cissi Rojas from Yoakum; grandchildren, Elena Canales, Austin Canales, Avery Rojas, and Rebekah Rojas; sister Edie Hodde (Billy) from Austin; nieces Laura Raines (Steve) from Liberty Hill and Lynn Waters (Randy) from Hutto; nephew Larry Gonzalez (Becci) from Waelder; three great-grandchildren and seven grand-nieces and grand-nephews whom he adored.
His favorite chapter in the Bible was Psalms 23, the Good Shepherd. May he “dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (v6).

A memorial service for Roger will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752.
