Roger S. Webb, Sr., 62, of Lakeway, Texas, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed peacefully from this life to the next on January 9, 2009 at St. David's South Austin hospital. Born May 8, 1946, Roger was the loving and cherished son of Jack Gibson Webb and Louise Murphy Webb of Ft. Worth. He lettered in many sports at Richland Hills (Rebels) High School (1964) and also extended his football career at Baylor University. Honoring his country by serving in the U.S. Marines, he continued his service with the Marine Reserves. Roger received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and an MBA from Southern Methodist University (1973). Having a distinguished business consulting career for 35 years, Roger specialized in systems architecture for aerospace and production environments. Most recently, Roger worked in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Washington, D.C., designing systems for the Navy's new DD(X) Zumwalt Destroyer. He lived life to the fullest, whether vacationing with various family members, fly-fishing his favorite trout streams, soaking up the sun at island resorts, attending baseball games, or eating at his favorite Mexican food restaurants. Perhaps Roger's greatest joys in life were daily talks with loved ones, mentoring family and friends, and watching his children succeed in life. Roger is survived by wife, Connie Webb of Lakeway; son, Roger Webb II and wife Kimberly of Edmond, OK; daughter, Jessica Webb of Redondo Beach, CA; son, Matthew Webb and wife Sarah of Ft. Worth; stepchildren, Jordan High and Brittany High of Austin; sister, Janet Webb of Ft. Worth; and grandchildren, Rachel Webb and David Webb. A memorial service celebrating his life and legacy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the home to enjoy Roger's favorite—Rudy's barbecue.
