

Ronald Charles Malis, age 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 of complications related to Parkinson's Disease. Ronald (Ron) was born on November 2, 1932 in North Tonawanda, New York to Charles and Frances Malis. He graduated from North Tonawanda High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force volunteering to go to Korea. After flying on a C-47 as a radio operator, he attended cadet training and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1950. Throughout his Air Force career until his retirement in 1970, he flew B-36s, B-52s, and the RF-4C.
Upon retirement from the military, he finished his college education at St. Edwards University with Honors and a B.S. Degree in Accounting. He was employed by the Department of Defense as an ccountant/auditor for over twenty years. Ron was a member of the Austin Runners Club and a long-time member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church where he served as an Usher for over twenty-five years.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mimi Grimsell Malis; his children, Merilynn (Mike), Suzanne, and John (Cyrilla); grandchildren, Patrick (Carrie) and Scott; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
Ronald's Life will be remembered at a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Cave Road.
