Ruben Nunez Martinez, born 09/02/27 to Fred C. and Jesusita N. Martinez in Houston, Texas. He left this world on 04/02/15. He was a resident of Austin, Texas for the past 30 years and was a former resident of Friendswood, Texas where he spent his childhood and young adult years.
Ruben was a Marine Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient from the Korean War. He attended the University of Houston. He was a master plumber and had retired from the plumbing trade in 1989.
His love for baseball and children led him to numerous volunteer coaching positions.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Suzanne Martinez, sons Danny Martinez and wife Lori of San Leon, Charles Martinez and wife Robin of Seattle, Jeffrey Martinez and wife Christine, and Steve Martinez and wife Margot both of Austin. He had seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Ruben's memorial service will be determined at a later date.
