

Ruby Grace Tisdale, 90, of Austin, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011. She was born on December 28, 1920 in Fairfield, Texas to Andrew Tisdale and Ester Draper Tisdale, the ninth of ten children, and was raised on a farm outside Streetman, Texas. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters and her two husbands, Coy Oliver and Louis Lancaster.
Ruby married Coy Oliver on March 24, 1938. There were two children born of this union, Joanne Oliver Anania and Riley Oliver. She is survived by her children, Joanne and Riley, five grandchildren, Donna Beaver, Dianna Salazar, Nanette Oliver, Francesca Hallin and Jonathan Oliver, and three great-grandchildren, Anthony Anania, Andrew Anania and Mackenzie Hallin.
As a military wife, Ruby lived in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Nebraska and Kansas and in Germany. She and Coy settled in Austin in 1969. Coy died in November 1988. On August 16, 1990 she married Louis Lancaster of Austin and was welcomed into the large Lancaster family. She and Louis lived in South Austin, traveled, and were active in the Bannockburn Baptist Church. Louis passed away in 2007.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Rush of Bannockburn Baptist Church and Dr. Ken Baldwin of Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
