Ruth Norris

Ruth Patterson Norris passed away April 1, 2018. She was a proud daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on August 20, 1937 in Holland, Texas to Richard Weldon and Grace Marie Patterson.

Ruth attended Texas City High School. After high school, she was a private duty nurse, cosmetologist, and gift shop owner. She was married to Richard Norris; together, they had two sons. Ruth enjoyed cooking, baking, doing hair and make-up, playing cards, and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was a platinum member of Carnival Cruise Line and enjoyed over 25 cruises.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Norris, sister, Jeanette Gates, and brother Joe Patterson.

She is survived by her sisters FayeRene Shetter and Rebecca (Becky) Leu; her two sons Dennis (Boog) Norris and Rickey Lynn Norris; daughter-in-law Donna Norris; grandchildren Michael Norris, Jill (Adam) Glasgow, Courtney (Jordan) Sevin, Kaleigh Norris, Ashleigh Norris (Dalton Sasin), Nataleigh Norris, Kelly (Evan) Wilson, Ryan Stidham, and Megan Huntley; and great-grandchildren Eric Keily, Gunner Keily, and Kiera Wilson. She was anticipating the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, Aaron Lewis Sevin and Abigail Grace Sasin.

Funeral Arrangements have been made with Cook-Walden Funeral Home located at 6100 N Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas 78752. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 6th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 7th at 2:00pm. Graveside burial will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
