

Friends, family and co-workers will celebrate the life of Ryan Patrick Burger, 29, on January 16th, 2015. His life, spirit and glory will be celebrated with those who cherished him at a viewing from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Friday, January 16th at Weed-Corley Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress, with services to begin at 7:00 pm. Ryan, will then be brought to San Diego for a memorial service at Our Lady of Grace Church in El Cajon, CA on January 23rd starting at 11am. Ryan was born on January 31st 1985 at Mercy Hospital in San Diego.
He is survived by his parents, Rick Burger and Trish McAuliffe of San Diego, his step-mother, Anastasia Burger; his loving fiancé, Stephanie Cunningham of Austin; grandparents, Rose and Walter Burger of Decatur, IL, grandparents, Judy McAuliffe of Kingman, AZ; step-grandfather, Stanley Hicks; his brother, Gavin Brown; sisters, Kelsey Brown, Caitlyn Burger and Laura Burger are all from San Diego; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dogs, Liberty and Buddy.
Ryan's life was unexpectedly taken away on January 13th at his residence in Austin, TX. Ryan was a bright and handsome man who dedicated his life to helping others through his work as a Paramedic for Austin/Travis County EMS. Although our hearts our broken we have to remember Ryan's dedication as an EMS professional, there are people that would not be alive today without Ryan's intervention.
Ryan graduated with honors at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, CA and then attended Grossmont College in La Mesa, CA before attending EMTSA College in El Cajon where he became a Paramedic. Ryan worked at Rural Metro Ambulance in San Diego for 5 years as an EMT/Paramedic before moving to Austin in 2010. Ryan's sense of humor was infectious along with his 300 yard drives on the golf course. He loved traveling and took regular trips home to San Diego and abroad.
Ryan will be missed by all but please remember him as an outstanding person in every way. He is now in the hands of our Lord.
