

Samuel “Sammy” Rosa of Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 66 with his family by his side. He was born on September 11, 1958, in Buffalo, New York where he grew up with his father, sister, and extended family.
Sammy graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Buffalo, New York.
Following a long and successful career as a Fleet Service Clerk, Sammy retired from American Airlines in 2020.
A lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, Sammy rarely missed a game, firmly believing that every year was their year- no matter the standings.
Known for his deep love of fast cars and the open road, Sammy could often be found polishing chrome, tuning engines, or collecting vintage toy cars.
Sammy had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, which guided every aspect of his life and brought peace in his final days.
Sammy is preceded in death by his Father, Corpio Rosa Millan and Mother, Sara Perez.
Sammy is survived by his ex-wife of 43 years, Elba Marie Rosa; Daughters, Jessica Monique Rosa, and Samantha Marie Rosa; Granddaughter, Kadence Noelle Schneider; Sister, Belinda Ortiz and husband, Pedro Ortiz; Sister, Dorcas Rosa; Brothers, Jaime “Jimmy” Lugo, and Ricky Lugo; Along with many loving extended family members, including Aunt, Marianela Rodriguez, several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. David's South Austin Medical Center for their compassionate care and support during Sammy’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation Service at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 PM CST.
Interment to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST.
