Sherry C. Gattis

Sherry Christine Gattis passed away on May 11, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born July 20, 1971 in Austin, Texas, she grew up in Gladewater, Texas and returned to Austin after attending UT-Tyler.

Preceded in death by her father, Roland C. Gattis, Jr., Sherry is survived by her grandparents, Emory and Wanda Muehlbrad, and Willie Dee Gattis, mother, Teresa DeShazer and stepfather, Billy DeShazer, sisters Paula Gattis and husband, Tommy Oney, Angelia Runyan and husband, Eric Runyan, Cynthia Kuhl and husband, Dan Kuhl, and brother Greg Gattis, 3 nephews, 1 niece and numerous other relatives and friends.

Throughout her career in accounting, Sherry worked for companies in both Kilgore and Austin, leaving a legacy of integrity, professionalism and pride in a job well done.

Sherry joined the P.E.O., a women’s organization that promotes education and provides assistance to selected Texas residents in dire financial need through the TSOFI project. She also enjoyed traveling, flowers, and spending time with her beloved family and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 6600 Woodrow Ave, Austin, TX 78757.
