Shirley Wagner went home to Jesus on February 25, 2021 in Austin, Texas. Shirley was the fifth of eight children born to Anna Lee Terrill Bleigh and David Marion Bleigh. She was born in Philadelphia, Missouri, on September 14, 1927 and grew up in small towns in the Hannibal, Missouri area.

She grew an appreciation for libraries by working as a librarian at the College of the Mainland. She later used her skills to assist churches with their libraries.
She leaves behind her husband of seventy years, Melvin Wagner; two children, Linda Wagner and Ron (Terrie) Wagner; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her sister, Rosie (Fred) Wright.
