Obituario de Shirley Virginia Wagner
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services

Shirley Wagner went home to Jesus on February 25, 2021 in Austin, Texas. Shirley was the fifth of eight children born to Anna Lee Terrill Bleigh and David Marion Bleigh. She was born in Philadelphia, Missouri, on September 14, 1927 and grew up in small towns in the Hannibal, Missouri area.

On April 5, 1950, Shirley moved to Texas City, Texas and married Melvin Dayle Wagner, a man she had known from childhood in Hannibal. The couple raised their family in LaMarque, Texas. Later they moved to Temple, Texas, following retirement to be closer to their grown children. Shirley’s second family was her fellow church members. The joy of her life was serving the Lord, volunteering to work at church starting by working with children. She grew an appreciation for libraries by working as a librarian at the College of the Mainland. She later used her skills to assist churches with their libraries.

She leaves behind her husband of seventy years, Melvin Wagner; two children, Linda Wagner and Ron (Terrie) Wagner; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her sister, Rosie (Fred) Wright.

As a precaution against covid, no memorial will be held.

Memorial suggestions would be donations to a church library of your choice.
