Shirley Nelson Walston

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; James D. Nelson, Clifford A. Nelson and Johnnie M. Washington; a grandson, David Crow; nephews, Jamie Nelson, Timmy Nelson and John Nelson. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joe Mac Walston; her sister, Billie Jo Harper; her step daughters, Terri ( Don) Crow and Wendy (Lynn) Howard; grandchildren, Kim (Russell) Moore, Chris (Becca) Crow, Blake Howard and Justin Howard; great grandchildren, Cade Moore, Cole Moore, Carter Crow and Emma Grace Howard; and many nieces and nephews, and their precious families, all of whom she loved, as only Shirley could love.

Shirley was a joy to be around. She found humor in everything.

She worked as a legal secretary for most of her working career and made many lifelong friends. Quite the prankster, everyone fell in love with her.

Shirley loved her cats and dogs. Until recently feeding all the cats in the neighborhood.

Shirley will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we find comfort in knowing she is now playing jokes with her family that went before her. Also, in the knowledge she has gained her angel wings and is no longer in pain. Thank you God, for the gift of Shirley.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 o'clock at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery on Hancock Drive.
