Steven Joe Majka

Steve passed away peacefully Saturday, May 31, 2014 at MD Anderson in Houston. He battled AML Leukemia for three years. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 18, 1950 to parents Walter Nicholas and Jo Mae Majka.

Steve graduated from high school in Novato, California and earned a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University. He had a long and fulfilling career as a home builder in Texas, Tennessee and Florida. In 1997 he started Stetson Homes and built many beautiful custom residences, including several of his own design, in and around Austin. Steve enjoyed the outdoors hunting, scuba diving, white water rafting; always searching for the next big adventure. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, leather working and his Boxer dogs.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Walter Majka and beloved Boxer Cody. He is survived by his mother, Jo Mae (Joty) Majka, sister, Cheryl Greene, son, Steve and wife Jenna Majka, nephew, Mike and wife Shana Greene, and grandchildren, Nicholas and Jazmin Majka and Chance and Cooper Greene.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Baldwin to officiate. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
