

Susan Kay Ziegler Green Susan Kay Ziegler Green, age 63, of Austin, Texas, died on September 9, 2004. Susan was born in 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Catherine Belt Ziegler and Harold Andrew Ziegler (deceased). Susan graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth in 1959 and graduated from Texas Tech in 1963 with a B.S. degree in elementary education. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, Student Council, and Mortar Board. In 1963 Susan taught second grade one year in Odessa and continued teaching second grade in Austin at Metz Elementary School from 1964 to 1969. In 1966 Susan married Dan Green, an attorney. Susan worked in a clerical position from 1976 to 1984 at the Texas Education Agency and was employed as secretary to the building manager of the Scarbrough Building from 1987 to 1998 and also worked for several of the building owners. She was later employed at an advertising agency and from April, 2000, through November, 2002, worked in a clerical position at the State Board of Dental Examiners. Memberships included St. Davids Episcopal Church, Austin Womans Club, Alpha Phi Alumnae, and Austin Lawyers Auxiliary. She served as a member of Altar Guild at St. Davids Episcopal Church and was on the Ways and Means Committee at the Austin Womans Club. Previous memberships included the Natural Science Guild and Laguna Gloria Art Guild. Susan enjoyed traveling, reading, bird watching, and the special beauty of seeing various flowers. Susan is survived by her husband, Dan; mother, Catherine Ziegler of Fort Worth; aunt, Mary Clark, of Waxahachie; cousins, Mary Ann McLane and husband, Del, of Waxahachie, Dan Clark and wife, Sandy, of Waxahachie, and Ed Clark III and wife, Trudy, of Oregon. She is also survived by brother-in-law, John Green and wife, Marianne, of Delaware, nieces, MLissa Cortez and son, J.C., of Austin, Janel Green of Tennessee, and Lauren Ermann and husband, Michael , of West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2004 at St. Davids Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
