I only knew her briefly, but in the time that you were in my class and she was one of my room moms, I feel very honored to have known her. As a teacher, I was so blessed to have her help in the room. As I think back on the 20 years that I have known Susan, I have many pictures of her. As a teen, blonde, lithe, in her bikini, beautiful with all the boys in H compound panting.  As a young woman, starting a career, dedicated, honest, giving her 110%.  As a friend who was fun to go out with and enjoy Austin.  As a bride, offering up the 'wedding of the century' full of gaiety and love.  As a wife, taking on hunting dogs, being a 'hostess with the mostess.' As a mother, loving her children and taking the time and energy to make sure they explored their potentials.  As a beach goddess with her beach house which was open to all her friends to enjoy.  Whatever the memory is, it is one of a beautiful person, full of love and caring for others, taking us all into her warmth and generosity.  She is sorely missed, but holds a standard for those of us still here to follow.  We can keep her spirit alive.

Dear Stan, Jackie, Charles and families:    It has now been nine days since Susan went away, and it still does not seem real. We still can not find adequate words to express our sadness and sympathy, so please accept Dorian's eulogy as our words of love and comfort.      Carol and Dorian    "Some of you heard me say a few words when Carols dear mother, Jean,  passed away about four years ago.    I was able to reminisce  quite a bit about Jean and even managed to include a couple of funny experiences.  But, Carols mother was 93 years old, almost twice the age of Susan. Such a differenceAnd our son, David, is about the same age as Susan      So, please forgive me if I keep it short and serious and if I become a little sentimental.  Carol and I and Tanya and David have had the true pleasure of knowing Susan for about 25 years. Just as Stan and Jackie and Ted, she was part of our familyand what a happy part of our family.      I truly dont ever remember seeing Susan without a smile on her face, or hearing anything but friendly, caring words.  I am not trying to be poetic, but I always associate Susan with the beach and the ocean, carefree and happy with her beautiful, long hair blowing in the wind.  And that is probably because Susan loved the beach so much and that is where we saw her so often.  I even saw her there when she wasnt there.  Stan will probably remember one time on South Padre Island when I pointed to this beautiful young lady who I thought was Susanbut it wasnt.    Well Susan, from now on we wont need a look-alike to remind us of you, because you will always be in our hearts, and you will always be young, and beautiful, and loving , and caring.  We love you, Susan and may God and his angels take you up in their arms."



Stan and Jackie,    We were shocked to get the terrible news of Susan's passing. We wish there was something we could say or do to make this tragedy easier for you to bear. Susan Harbourt Revelle   1961-2006    Ive known Susan since the early 80s, we worked together at Lockheed.  I remember the first time I saw her walking around the building, it was hard to miss her, so tall and beautiful and she had a certain sophisticated air about her.   I just knew then that I wanted to be her friend.    Things worked out for me in that way and we became friends, and then neighbors.  We bought condos next door to each other, a week apart, and our friendship blossomed from there.      Over the years, Susan became one of my best friends.  She was an awesome friend, the kind of friend anyone would want.  If you look up friend in the dictionary, it should have Susans picture there.  She was always there for me, always cheerful, warm, loving, so generous with herself and whatever else she might have that I needed.  She took me into her life like I was her sister.  She is the best.      ..and I want to add that it wasnt just with me, or with her family and children, Kathryn and James, that she was that way,     she was that way with everyone, from a friend, to a co-worker, to a stranger on the street.  From her horses, to Daisy, to all of Charles hunting dogs, she had a loving spirit that is hard to find. She was the most loving, caring, genuinely compassionate person I know, with everyone.      She was the perfect mother and wife, and she was lucky because she has such a wonderful mother, Jacquie, and father, Stan, who taught her how to love and care for people. Kathryn and James are lucky to have that kind of love in the important times of their childhood. Charles is lucky to have known such unconditional love.  Some people never find that love in their entire lives.    I was the maid of honor at her and Charles wedding.  It was such a beautiful wedding, and we had so much fun that night.  But, she worked me hard....  I never realized what it meant to have that honor stowed upon me, but Susan showed me!    Susan enjoyed life and had a good time living it.    I think we are all struggling with the why in this situation and I know that I cant figure out the why  its beyond me  so Im trying to find the positives that exist.   I think that Susan would want us all to do this  I would like to say that when anyone of you are feeling down or sad       ..think of Susan, and let her beautiful spirit put a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and joy in your heart.          Shes always done that for me.

To Charles, Kathryn, James, and Susan's family and friends please accept my deepest sympathy.  It is with sincere regret that I learned of Susan's passing. When I went to work at Lockheed Austin Division in Feb. 1984, Susan was the first co-worker I met. She was truly a special person and we are all better people for having known her. From RPV to Atlas/Titan to the close down of LAD we worked together and understood the cycles of the aerospace world. I share in your loss and pray that God will bless and keep you during this time and the time to come.



Where does one begin to describe Susan?  So many admirable qualities - wonderful friend, dedicated mom, great conversationalist, personable, savvy, positive & fun - just to name a few.  She touched the lives of many.  And I am blessed with the friendship and precious memories I  cherish.  She will forever remain in our hearts.

In 1976 Susan was a lovely 15 year old when she, Ted, Jackie and Stan and other families, including mine, moved into Lockheed's "H" compund in Jeddah, SA.  Special long-term family friendships started there, and many continue to this day.  Susan, along with her parents attended my daughter Janelle's wedding in 1998.  This was the first time I had seen Susan since she had married. I attended Jackie and Stan's 50th anniversary party which Susan planned and carried out so well.  At this time I had the opportunity to meet Charles and their beautiful children.      Over the years there have been a lot of good times for a lot of us. May Susan's immediate and extended family of friends find these memories of her and the good times be a balm that will soothe and heal the pain of her loss. Susan was a wonderful mother.  I taught James in kindergarten last year and had the pleasure of working with Susan as well.   She was an awesome kindergarten mom.  She volunteered in our room every week.  Susan was always willing to fill in for other parents during Kinder Lab and she often read to our class as a Guest Reader.  We all loved the time she dressed up like a pirate and read one of James favorite books, Pirate Pete.  The students cherished it, especially James.  Susan was so sweet and gentle with the children.  Her tender demeanor and smile lit up the room.  We will all miss Mrs. Revelle.  She was a very special mom.

I worked for Susan when I was at AMAT and she really made work fun.  I remember for Christmas one year, she gave each of us a unique present.  Mine was a sticky notepad that said "I am here in body only -- my spirit is on the beach in Mexico".  I ran across that notepad just recently and I'm glad I still have it.  It makes me think of her and smile.    I ran into her at the grocery store, while I was pregnant with my second daughter, and we shared a few moments about being a Mom.  She invited my family to visit her family at her beach house in Port Aransas.   I kept her email address in my purse so that one day we could do just that.    I will miss her, and remember her. Last year Susan wrote in her Christmas card I want you at our beach house! Start planning. I have been blessed to teach both of Susan and Charles' children--Kathryn and James. They are sweet, kind and fun youngsters and they loved their mom very much. Susan was always willing to help out at our school and as recently as January 28th attended and supported our school's fund raiser. Suasan was always very complimentary and supportive of me and our enitre school. I will miss seeing her smiling face in our hallways. Just last week James wrote in his "Things I Love" book--I love my mom to read me books.  I love my Mom because she wears a Halloween mask. I love Mom when she tucks me in bed. I love Mom when she hugs me.  James' words are a wonderful testimony to Susan's love, nurturing and care she gave her children. My thoughts and prayers and heartfelt sorrow go out to James, Kathryn and Charles.



I remember Susan fondly while we resided in Saudi Arabia!  I was always impressed with her beauty - and know that it will always be there both in memory and in heaven!  Until we meet again! God Bless!!

I'll always remember when Susan was leaving AMAT, I asked her - "so what are you gonna do next?".   Susan put on her big dramatic voice (you know the one) and said "POTTY TRAINING!   Dear Lord, we are gonna do some POTTY Training!"   We must have laughed for 3 minutes...  Like everyone else, I simply cannot express enough sympathy for you and your family.   The world is a more empty place w/o her here.
