Susie Henry Tomerlin

Susie was the daughter of Joseph and Martha Roth and grew up in Pflugerville and south Texas. In 1946 after the death of her husband, Thad Henry, she moved to Austin with her four children to be close to family. Susie was a homemaker and worked for Dr. S. H. Johnston (orthodontist) for several years after her children were all in school. In 1966 Susie married Pierce Tomerlin. They were married for 31 years and had many wonderful years’ together and traveled 48 states. Susie and Pierce were long time members of Hyde Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her four children Raymond and Frances Henry, Martha Sue Grona, Mary Jo and Ray Hennig, and Boyd and Jean Henry. Two step daughters; Lucille Sweeney and Yvonne DeLeon. Sister-in-law Mary Alice Lansford and brother-in –law Howard Tomerlin. Seven grandsons, two granddaughters, several great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Susie was preceded in death by two husbands, Thad Henry and Pierce Tomerlin. Parents: Joseph and Martha Roth, Sisters: Frieda Gest and Annie Haag; Brothers Martin and Walter Roth and son-in-law Joe Grona.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Thad Henry, Greg Henry, Bobby Grona, Jerry Grona, Terry Grona, Bryn Henry, and Shane Hennig

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock until six o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, the 28th of April 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 29th of April 2013, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville, Texas.
